Sarah’s Pesto

I plant a lot of basil and make a lot of Pesto.  It freezes really well. As a result, we have Pesto year around.

My favorite recipe is really easy.

Measure into blender:

  • 5 Tablespoons of chopped garlic
  • 3 cups of fresh Basil
  • 1/2 cup of olive oil
  • 3/4 cups walnuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 3/4 cup water

and push a button —now how hard is that?

(I use walnuts instead of pine nuts because they do not cost as much.)
