Broccoli

Broccoli has been picked. The plan is to make broccoli quiche and broccoli cheese soup and freeze it. I have tried to freeze plain Broccoli, but it does not work for me. It is always limp and tasteless. The quiche is really good and freezes well. So does the soup. We will enjoy the soup […]

Cabbage Because

We are harvesting our Copenhagen cabbages. They are beautiful this year. Some will be kraut. My German grandmother would be proud. Some I will make into various types of slaw. Some will be steamed and some will be stir-fried. I will dehydrate a lot of the cabbages. These will be used in soups and stews […]

This huge female Pyr puppy is flying home to Alaska. Her life will be full of big adventures. I meet the most interesting people when they come to pick up their puppies. Tomorrow, a family is driving in from west Texas to collect their new pup and a Polypay ram lamb. Considering that we live […]

Lillies

Every year, the orange lilies spread farther across our front yard. They seem to be waving at the cars as they drive by. Orange lilies are not fancy, but they are happy.

Apathy

In the summer, I usually write about the garden, the animals, and life on the farm. However, today, I cannot help but write about Apathy. Yesterday was the forth of July. We drove to some friends house for a cook out. On the way to their house, I saw exactly two homes with flags out […]

For Your Information

I knew that when I wrote this morning’s blog that it would stir things up. I do believe God is Lord of All.
