I Don’t Understand

I don’t understand why the presidential hopeful candidates take shots at each other. I don’t understand why they think vicious attacks on the competition will get them elected. I think it would be smarter to discuss how they would fix the debt mess, the unemployment mess, the health care mess, and all the other messes […]

I Don’t Understand

Did you know that pesticides have been linked to nervous system […]

It is time to can the kraut. My German Grandmother used to can it plain. Bob’s Norwegian Grandmother used to add one teaspoon of caraway seed to each quart of kraut. I will do both. This is the last step for the little cabbage seeds I planted last spring. The canned kraut will line the […]

Horseradish Sauce

Bob dug up some of our Bohemian Horseradish. I will make it into horseradish cream sauce. It is mixed with sour cream and half and half. This is really good on a lamb roast. Really good!

Herbs

My herb harvest begins today. The sage, oregano, thyme, tarragon, lemon verbena, and lavender, will be brought in and placed in the dehydrator. I will do the basil tomorrow. Some will be dried, by a LOT of them will be turned into our favorite pesto. I will make the pesto and freeze it in serving […]
