Root Beer Float
While in Indiana, visiting my son, we went out for a Root beer float. This photo was put on face book and some of my face book friends seem to think it is a glass of beer that I am holding. For clarification, it is Root beer with a scoop of vanilla ice cream floating on top!

Tinctures and Oils
My kitchen is full of bottles and jars. Today, I am working on tinctures and herbal oils and learning as I go. All the herbs were gathered six weeks ago and are now ready for the straining and bottling process. So far, I have been able to “test” the Plantain tincture. It worked wonders on a cut on Bob’s hand. The healing was visible in an amazingly short time. Also “tested” (on me), with positive results, are Elderberry syrup and Sage tincture. So far so good. I will keep on keeping on.

A blanket of snow covers my garden. The season of rest has arrived. The land will be still and quiet; the winter will be long and hard. My harvest has been good. I am grateful.

Hot Chilli and Corn Bread
The day is gray and cold and windy. It is perfect for making hot, spicy chilli, and Jalapeno corn bread! There are some things that I learned in Texas that make this day in Minnesota Happy! Happy! Happy!
