Chicken and Bisquits from Milk and Honey Farm

The old rooster crowed his last. He is now simmering gently in my biggest pot .В  He will be joined by onions, garlic, mushrooms and little green peas.В  The gravy that he is floating in is made out of chicken broth, whole wheat flour, and skim milk.В  He is seasoned with sage, thyme, salt and pepper.

I will make some whole wheat biscuits.В  The rooster sauce will be poured over the hot biscuits for dinner. There is enough of the rooster mix for several big meals. This is an inexpensive way to feed a lot of folks. The only items that I had to buy were the mushrooms, peas, and milk.В  Everything else came from the garden and out of the chicken house. This is pure “country comfort food”!

Ecclesiastes 5:18В  ” Here is what I have seen. It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him, for it is his heritage. “
