Celebrating Cabbage

The tiny cabbage seeds, sown last spring, have come full circle. Bob picked the cabbages, hauled them onto the porch and from there I took over. With a little help from my friends, the cabbage has become Kraut. It is bubbling away in the old crock. In a few weeks, I will be canning Kraut. It is a rite of passage, celebrated every year since we moved to the farm. The canning jars are washed and ready, and my kitchen smells like Kraut. It makes me Happy! Happy! Happy!
