Sign of the times

When the herbs are gathered in, it is a sign that the seasons are changing. Basil, Sage, and Thyme are in the dehydrator now. They will be dried for winter use in the kitchen. The potato plants are dying back, a sign that we can harvest our potato crop very soon. The leaves on the garlic plants are wilting and changing from bright green to brown. The garlic is ready to dig. The tomatoes are starting to turn red, a sign that the ripening has begun. Dried flowers are hanging from the kitchen ceiling, bringing vivid colors in the house.

The jeans that were too tight this Spring are now loose. The change is from working in the garden. The loft is full of hay bales, a sign that our sheep will eat this winter. It is easy to”read” the signs of the changing seasons. If you look, you can see them. However, I am aware of more important signs. There are signs all over the world that point to another kind of harvest. If you look, you can see them. The Lord of the Harvest will be coming soon!
