Chickens

We say “good by” to the old chickens  tomorrow. They will be picked up by the “processing” lady and returned in packages to go in the freezer.  They have been good chickens. They have kept us in eggs for the last three years. That season will end tomorrow.  Their next  contribution  will be in the form of chicken broth, creamed chicken over biscuits, and chopped chicken for stir fry.

The young pullet hens and one rooster will be moved into the main chicken house.  There are 12 hens and they are enthusiastically giving me 12 eggs a day.  (The rooster is happy too).

Chickens are handy on the farm. They contribute a lot for our table. They give their “All”.
