Spaghetti Sauce
Spaghetti sauce just isn’t sauce without fresh basil and oregano. It is so fun to go out to the green house and trim the plants for my sauce. It helps to have fresh mushrooms and lamb burger too. Then there is the Parmesan cheese grated on top. Guess what’s for dinner. Yum!!

Quiche
What’s for dinner is solved. I just came in with a dozen eggs from the hen house. My basket also contains fresh oregano, chives, parsley and basil leaves from the green house. Tonight, we will have an Onion Quiche. With the eggs, herbs, and onions, I will mix in cheddar cheese and a little Swiss […]

Planting
The serious planting of heirloom seeds has begun. Bob has the new bulbs installed in the grow lights and is filling up trays of potting soil. My kitchen has turned into a planting station. There are trays of soil on the floor, containers of seeds on the counters, watering cans, plant markers, and towels to […]

Puppy and People
Today, another great Pyrenees puppy met his new people. He will travel home with them to Wisconsin. They came equipped with paper towels and handy wipes. That is always a great idea when traveling with a puppy. ( I learned that the hard way.) The pup looks a lot like his sire, Boaz. He is […]

Curry
The cold weather (zero degrees on the back porch) means Indian curry for supper. It is hot and full of exotic spices. I guarantee it will warm you up on the coldest of days. It may fight off just about any form of virus. The hot cayenne peppers breathe fire, and seems to annihilate germs. […]

Leftovers
Leftovers can achieve “prime time” by becoming Vegetable soup. Example in point, we served our company a leg of lamb roast. There were a few leftovers and they entered my soup pot first. I added little bits of stuff that I found in the refrigerator. These little bits of leftover foods included garlic, onions, celery, […]

The Chef
Bob builds masterful pizzas! He hand makes the sauce and the crust. The toppings include mushrooms, jalapeno peppers, onions, and lamb burger. Mountains of Italian cheese will make it special. When he takes over my kitchen, it will be good, very, very GOOD!

Dealing With It
The back porch thermometer reads 20 degrees below zero. It is cold. There is bread baking in the oven and soup cooking in the big kettle. I will be calling in all my garden seed orders and answering e mails. The class I am enrolled in has homework. No more excuses, I will study. The […]

ROSEMARY
The whole house smells like Rosemary. I have been trimming the new growth ends off of all the Rosemary plants. There are three big “Mother” Rosemary plants and six pots of babies. The babies were started from cuttings off of the “Mother” plants last summer. They all will go out to the herb garden in […]
