Moving Plants
Today, I will move more plants from under the grow lights out to the Hoop House green house. I will visit the barn to check on the lambs and see if any more have arrived. I will walk one of the Great Pyrenees and the Poodle. I will gather the eggs from my over achieving […]

Winter Wait
Winter is a waiting time. Today, I am waiting for the Great Pyrenees puppies to be born. I am waiting for the plants to germinate under the grow lights. I am waiting for my neighbor to plow snow that blocks the drive way. I am waiting for my Prayers to be answered on issues close […]

Mocca
Mocca is back outside today. She enjoyed being in the house yesterday, but she is not close enough to puppy delivery to stay inside all the time. Tesse is close to her birthing time, so she will remain inside. Walking around two huge female Great Pyrenees, and one poodle, in a small farm house, is […]

Great Pyrenees Puppies
Tesse is happily shredding the newspapers I put in her whelping box. This is a good sign. Her “spouts” are filling up and I am officially on “puppy watch”. What make this truly fascinating is that I moved Mocca inside this morning. Mocca was bred to Boaz about the same time as Tesse. There is […]

Tesse
It looks like Tesse will be the first of my Great Pyrenees to have her puppies. We moved her inside today. She will love the whelping box, enjoy all the extra petting, and devourer mega amounts of dog food. (plus her vitamins, raw eggs, and lamb patties) Considering the wind chill is minus 50 degrees, […]

Ginger July 2001 – August 3 2013
Ginger passed this morning. She was laying in the sunshine beside the old red barn when Bob found her. She will be buried out behind the garage with all her old Pyrenees friends who went before her. It is always a sad day when one of our old dogs die. We will remember her as […]

Multitasking Puppies
Pyr Pups Multitask! One male and two female Pyr puppies born to Mocca and Boaz in March have begun training in “multitasking.”   They are being socialized in the house and love to be petted by old and young alike. All three of the pups have mellow personalities and are learning house manners. For their other […]

Puppies are Out
All the Great Pyrenees puppies and their Moms have been moved out of the basement and into the kennel in the barn. It will take a while, but the basement will be cleaned up. I have my broom, bucket, mop, and Clorox. Let the games begin!

” Plan A”
“Plan A” was to take all the puppies out to the barn kennel last Saturday. It did not work. Spring in Minnesota complicates everything. The wind raged, the snow came down, the temperature dropped and the puppies stayed in the basement. Today, it is Tuesday. The puppies are still in the basement. They are fuzzy, […]
