Unusal
An unusual amount of phone calls and e mail requests for prayer have come in this morning. Has anyone else noticed this today?

The Name
The Name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe. Proverbs 18:10

Garden 2013
Milk and Honey Farm garden 2013 has begun. The kitchen counters are stacked with trays holding wet potting soil. The Perennial flower and herb seeds have been sorted and are ready to be planted. The Grow light bulbs in the basement are plugged in.
The thermometer on the back porch reads minus ten degrees. I don’t care. Today I plant! Let the games begin.

Today at Our House
The sun is bright, reflecting on the snow. Fish curry is simmering on the stove. Ten thousand times ten thousand heirloom seeds are being sorted on the kitchen table. Piles of seed catalogs stand waiting for new orders to be placed. Great Pyr puppies are playing under my feet. Bob is hauling trays and pots into the basement from the green house. He will fill the pots with new potting soil. The poodle is asleep on the sofa. Wind whiling around outside the kitchen windows is formidable. This is winter at our farm house in Minnesota. It is all good.

FYI
For Your Information-there are the “good guys” and the “bad guys” at your grocery store. For example, a “good guy” vegetable is broccoli. It contains lots of vitamin C, carotenoids, vitamin K and folic acid. Broccoli is the most beneficial if consumed raw or lightly steamed. A “Bad Guy” soup, referred to in Nutrition Action newsletter as Liquid Salt, is Campbells regular Condensed Soup. It contains 760 mg of sodium per cup.The whole can contains 1,900 mg. of sodium. (Try Campbells Reduced Sodium or Healthy Choice Soups with sodium in the 400s–still alot if you eat the whole can)
The Nutrition Action Newsletter has great info on the good, the bad, and the ugly! A whole year’s subscription is only $12.
Perhaps it is a good time to begin the New Year with some good information. You think?

Hug Those Puppies
A wonderfully good thing to do on a cold day in Minnesota, is to bring in all the Great Pyrenees puppies and HUG them. The are soft and sweet and love to be cuddled. All seven pups are running around the kitchen exploring new territory. Bob is taking pictures of them for our Milk and Honey Farm web site. We have pups available to go to their new home in mid January.
Happiness is a new puppy!

The Beat Goes On–and On–and On
I am in my favorite chair–checking out all the new seed catalogs. The inventory of my saved seeds is the next step–and then the new orders go in.
The beat goes on and I love it!
