It is quiet.
The old farm is quiet tonight. Snow blankets the garden and the big dogs are curled up in barn next to the sheep. It is cold, even for them. My dishes are done and the kitchen is clean. The leftovers have been put away. Bob is wearing his new moccasins and his feet are warm. The only lights in the living room shine from the Christmas tree. A single white candle gently glows from each window.
Our house is full of the peace and presence of the Lord. We honor Him and have celebrated His birthday. I look forward to when He will come again–as the King of kings and Lord of lords. It is good for me to be quiet. Â My God reigns!

Now
Yesterday is past. Tomorrow is not here yet. The only thing that is certain is NOW. Do not waste it.
(Pause and consider that )

Impossible? Not!
Andrew Murray was right when he said, ” We have a God who delights in impossibilities.”
The Lord has done more “impossible” things in my life than I can count. Someday, I may write a book!

My Big Dogs
Our Great Pyrenees puppies are almost one month old. They have their eyes open, and are becoming proficient at running after their Mom. The pups will be ready to go to their new homes in mid January.
I wonder what their future holds. Some will become livestock guardians. They will faithfully protect family flocks and herds from harm and danger. They will patrol their territory with watchful eyes, ready to pounce on anything that would attempt to hurt their charges. Others will be family pets, best friends to small children and faithful companions to adults. One of these pups, will be trained as a therapy dog. She will bring help and hope to fragile people.
Sometimes, when cleaning up a messy kennel, or staying up all night watching over the puppies being born, I wonder if all the work is worth it. My answer is YES! The puppies are blessing. The big dogs are my friends, companions, and guardians. They guard the farm and watch over me.
As I type, one of the big dogs lays at my feet. She seems curious about the Christmas tree and stares at the colorful lights. The other Pyrs are out in the pasture, guarding the sheep. Bob is making egg nog in the kitchen. In a world filled with unbelievable tragedy, it is quiet in the house tonight. The big dogs are a part of that blessing.
There is information about our Great Pyrenees dogs and availability of the puppies on the web site. www.milkandhoneyfarm.com

Nevertheless
Several years ago, I heard a teaching about the word, nevertheless. It spoke so profoundly into my heart that I made little nevertheless signs and taped them up all over the house. There were signs in the kitchen, by the phones, in the entry hall, and even on the bathroom mirror. Our visitors would ask me about the signs, and that provided the opportunity to share what nevertheless means to me.
There are 73 references in the King James Bible for the word nevertheless. The teaching that made such an impression on me has to do with whatever happens, whatever we do, in spite of how things look – nevertheless – God is in control. There is the story in the book of Daniel about the Hebrew children who refused to bow to the king’s image. The penalty for disobedience was to be cast into a fiery furnace. They informed the king that GOD was GOD if they burned or not. They refused to bow to the idol of the king. The Lord protected them in the fiery furnace. It was good to be saved from death, but that was not the point.
Their decision was based on the total sovereignty of Almighty God. Likewise, each of us will have to decide if we will be tempted and bow to the idols of the world’s system. Each of us may face circumstances that appear impossible to overcome. These situations could be disease, bankruptcy, depression, broken relationships or even death. With these may come “the easy way out”, to bow to the world’s system. The circumstances may dictate failure, but the “Nevertheless factor” is the sovereignty of the Lord of Lords.
We have chosen not to bend nor bow to the worlds idols. We need the Lords help in this. That decision has been powerful in our lives. It affects everything that we do. It effects what we think about. It has made us bold in our witness of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is amazing how many emails come from Christians who like the strong witness on our web site. It makes no difference to us if anyone likes it or not. Nevertheless whatever happens – our God reigns.
The stone bravely stands on our porch, for all to see. Everyone that comes to Milk and Honey Farm has to walk by that stone to enter the house. It is a reminder of what we believe. We have chosen not to bow to the worlds idols.

Fiscal Cliff
There is hassling going on in Washington about something mysterious called the “Fiscal Cliff”. Wondering today, if anyone really understands what the consequences are for America. To me it seems just another political mess to bring fear, worry and general panic.
I will do none of the above. It is written in Proverbs 19:21, “There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand.” The politicians can plan and plot. They can argue until they turn blue.
My time will not be spent in worry. My thoughts will not include fear of the future. I can’t do anything about the “Fiscal Cliff”. What I can do is to pray, and be Thankful to the King of kings and Lord of lords. My times are in His Hands.
Amen!

The Puppy Palace
The Great Pyrenees puppies have been moved out of the basement and into their own “Puppy Palace” out side. Although it is only 19 degrees out there, the pups will be toasty warm snuggled up against their” Big Mama”. They are two weeks and two days old and fat and furry. Pyrs have no problem with the cold weather. They are tough.
On the other hand, when I go out to feed “Big Mama” and cuddle puppies, I will be taking along a big blanket. Not for them, but for me. There is an old lawn chair in the “Palace” . I will wrap up in the blanket and hold a lap full of warm puppies. Life is good.
